Fold, report on the live stock market, etc., for the weik pending Thursday, June 7, ISB3, as ?tollaw;—There' was a shortened supply of stock-iat'Addington on Wednesday in com- • pjmsdn with the. last few weeks. Fat sheep ..did not come forward in anything like the we have seen lately, and very few of first quality, and the balance not up to the usual mark. We quote mutton at about 2#d per lb on an average for ewe, and prime wether, perhaps a slight improvement on last week’s wmins. ;s Tn store sheep there were vpry few yarded, and we saw. no improvement t wites. Figs are still in good demand, and aSbldnp to. L32S 6d pet head. A fair supply of fiit cattle came forward, but the quality was r hot Yerygood. Beef ranged from 16s to 22s ;i6d per roolbs ; about 21s all round averagevery dragging sale. In store cattle there was a rather larger entry than has been the case for some weeks, and good forward conditioned beasts sold from L 3 10s to Ljs 10s. The total numbers of stock yarded were 4785 ~ sheep, 453 head of cattle, and 158 pigs. Our ■■entries were on account of the Chatmoss 'Estate,' Messrs Fletcher, F. M. Forster, J. EroWn, 'Capps; E. Menlbve, S. Mullins, J. Sargent, J. McMcrran, W. B. Clarkson, J. A. Bonnett, J. Haydon, and others. The Chat•mtetobssbred wethers sold at 14s 3d, ewes at I2S gd; Mr Menlove’s crossbred ewes brought lIS 7d all: round. Mr S. Mullins’ menno wethers brought ros and 10s 6d, a small proportion, of the line selling at 9s ?d; Mr F. >M r TFoster’s crossbreds realised 13s gd all Mr Sargent’s pigs were a grand lot, and were splendid condition, realising top prices in Consequence. They sold at 37s 6d, Lz, Lz . l6s, JU3i Is » and U P t 0 13 25 6d each. In cattle we sold at L 6 17s 6d, L 7 10s, L 8 7s 6d, and L 8 Ids for fat, and L 3, L 4 is to L 5 10s to ;L5 IZS 6d stores. Tinwald—At this market on Tuesday last there was not a very large entry. /A limited supply of fat sheep came forward, ’find mutton realised prices rather in advance Of -'Christchurch quotations; very slow, dull sale for stores. Cattle, both fat and stores, sold about equal to our last returns. — Wool, Sheepskins, Hides, Fat and Tallow: iu bur Thursday’s sale we had a full attendand submitted a good entry of skins and « few bales of wool Butchers’ crossbreds sold fit 3s lod, 3s I id, 4s, 4s 4d, 4s Sd, 4s lid, and up to 5s id, the top price being a grand line from one of our leading butchers; merinos, 3s fid, 3s gd, 4s 3d, '4s 4d, and 4s sd. Country skins, of which we submitted a good many lines, sold at full values, crossbreds going to 2s fid; zs rod, and 3s ?d; merinos, 3s id, 3s 6d, and up .to Ss 5d and $s gd. Stragglers’ wool brought 4}%d, s#d, and 6#d per lb. Good fat sold at 2%d and z4£d; inferior, IJjd. Hides and calfskins unchanged.—During the* Ureek we have sold .one of the Ringvrpod farms, . Ashburton, on account of Messrs Knbx and Brennan, 121 acres 2 roods, at L 8 as 6d per acre.
