FIRES.
[sr telegraph] Wellington, To-day.
A six-roomed house at Newton, owned by the Equitable Building Society and occupied by a family named Fulton, was burned l down- early' this morning. The insurances were—Building, LISO in the National. The fire originated in the bach portion of the house, where Mrs Fulton states that there has been no fire used for the last three weeks. Shortly'before the alarm was given she says she heard footsteps at the back of the house, and suspects incendiarism. Dunedin, To-day.
- A seven-roomed house and shop at the Ocean Beach, owned by Mr Patterson and; occupied by Mr Clifford Williams was burned down on Sunday. The building was insured in the Standard for L2OO. Mr Williams’s furniture was insured in the South British for LIOO.
