JUIT False Pretences.— Frederick Pavitt was brought up on a charge of obtaining about March 30th, 750 .bushels p£ wjipat from Rdwin- Thomas, j - under false pretences. The charge was a moat frivolous one, and there was not a tittle of evidence td support .it.—Sergeant Felton said that he had reason to believe that the accused had been hiding, and it wits only possible to present tbe wfitiyeft-v terday.—The case was accordingly adjourned for a week. After hearing the evidence, judgment was<giviW for defendant.
Morrow v. Harrison, claim Ll 9 4s, for work done in (barfing grairi ! f<Jr defendant —Mr Crisp for plaintiff, and Mr Wilding for defendant.—The defence was that the work referred to was loathe shape of neighbourly services, "and that it was never intended that any charge should be made. The for the plaintiff for L 7 10s, without professional coats.
Harrison v. Morrow, Claim L 8 10s 4d, the amount of a dishonored cheque.— There was no defence in this case, and judgment for 'the ■ ameunt claimed and costs was given.
