1. Handicap Hurdle Rack of 40 sovs ; over eight flights of hurdles, about 3ft 6in high ; nomination, 2 sovs ; acceptance, 1 sov ; 2 miles. 2. District Welter Handicap of 30 sovs; nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, IsoV; minimum weight, 9st, if the highest weight accepting be under Hat 71b to be raised to that weight, and the others’ in proportion ; district horses only; 1| miles. 3. Ashburton Autumn Handicap of 75 ’ sovs, added to a sweep of 3 sovs each for accepters; nomination, 2 sovs ; . acceptance, 2 sovs ; second horse to save stake ; miles. 4. District Selling Race (Handicap) of 25 sovs ; nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 1 sov, the winner to be sold by auction immediately after the race for 50 sovs ; district horses only ; 1 mile. 5. Selling Hack Race of 10 sovs ; post entry, 1 sov ; catch weights, the winner to be sold immediately after the race for 15 sovs, any surplus to go to funds of the Club ; 1 mile. SECOND DAY.

Frying Handicap of 50 sovs ; nomination, 2 sovs; acceptance, 1 sov ; f mile. 3. Ashburton Steeplechase Handicap 6f 60 sovs ; over such country and jumps as the stewards may appoint; nomination, 2 sovs; acceptance, 2 sovs ; second horse to save stake ; if the highest weight accepting be under ; 12st 71b to be raised to that weight, and the others in proportion ; 3 ■ miles. 4. Farmers’Plate (Handicap) of 30sovs; nomination, 1 sov'; acceptance, 1 sov; district horses only ; If miles. 5. Consolation Handicap of 20 sovs; nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, free ; 1 mile. 6. Hack Race of 10 sovs ; post entry, 1 sov ;no weight under 9at; for horses , that have not won an advertised race of 15 sovs or upwards ; J mile. No Qualification Fees. RULES AND KEGULATIONS. 1. There must be three or more entries for* each event or there will be no race. 2. No entry will be received except on the condition that all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards or whom they may appoint ; their decision on all points connected with carrjing out the above programme to be final. 3. Canterbury Jockey Club Racing Rules strictly adhered to. 4. A district horse shall mean any horse Shit has been commonly resident in the Ashburton County previous to February Ist, 1883, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting, and by a person who has resided in the said County during the same period. 5. All* nominations to be accompanied by entrance fees, name and age of horse, And. colors of rider, and in the hands of the Secretary addressed to Quill’s Hotel, not latet than 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 22nd, 1883. Weights will be published ijn Monday, April 9th, 1883. 6. Acceptances and sweeps to be paid to the Secretary not later than 9 p.m. on Saturday, April 14th, 1883. :>X 7.
