SPORTING.

DUNEDIN TRAINING NOTES. [by telegraph ] Dunedin, To-day. Training began at the Forbury yesterday. The best spin done was by Taiaroa, Sorhnus, and Aurora in company. They went round the course at a good smart pace, Somnus, who is coming on well, having decidedly the best of it at the finish. Lady is looking remarkably well, and has apparently quite recovered from her mishap. She did some useful

work in company; with Jkfat'&naka, but the pace was not fast. Tdaliuna, who has joined Jas. Cotton’s team, was treated to two rounds on the tan in company with Adamant. The son of Idalia moved freely, and seemed to be shaping promisingly;. Qitana did some fairly strong work alone. She also appears to have improved of late. Gang-’Awa and Carrigeen did steady work. Several other horses were treated to slow exercise.
