New Zealand wheat, ex warehouse, has similarly advanced, and is now at 44s to 475. Adelaide flour mains at 335, ex store. New Adelaide wheat is quoted at 465. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,300,000 quarters, being an advance of 70,000 quarters since January sth. Australian tallow has advanced 6d to is per cwt. Best beef is quoted at 435, best mutton at 455. The Wool Market. The wool market is decidedly firmer. The arrivals to date for next auctions amount to 80,000 bales. A Royal Birth. London, Jan. 13. The Duchess of Connaught gave birth to a son to-day.

A Plot Discovered. A plot to assassinate chief police officers in Dublin has been discovered. Twenty persons charged with the complicity in the conspiracy have been ar- ■ rested. The prisoners were brought up at Dublin Police Court to-day and remanded for a week. Several of them are suspected of being concerned in the Phoenix Park and other murders. Arrival of the Mails.
