Oxley, who wrote asking to be furnished with a schedule of the duties to be performed by the Clerk, as he understood the Board would shortly require one, the Chairman stated that the Board had no intention of calling for applications to fill the post referred to. Mr P. Dowling wrote calling the attention of the Board to a wash-out on the main Rakaia road. The overseer informed the Board that upon the receipt of Mr Dowling’s letter he had repaired the damage. Mr Compton was appointed ranger, there being two applications. Mr J. O. Duncan, accountant, wrote stating that he had audited the Board’s accounts for the previous year, and found everything satisfactory. Mr W, B. Compton made arrangements as to the Board’s clerical work for the present year. It was resolved to re-deposit L 2,000 for six months, and place the balance to the current account.
