ASHBURTON BOROUGH v. TINWALD.
This match, which was played on the Domain ground yesterday, resulted in an easy victory f«r the home team, who won by an innings and eight runs, Ashburton’s first innings closed for 177. L. F. Apdrewea batted with considerable f readonly
making 46, while G. An draws and Crocker put together 34 each. - Hosking * con*' tributed 25 in good style', and Patting made 11, none of the others reaching double figures. The Tinwald men only managed to score 99 in their first innings, Fossler (24) and Castelli (45) being also able to withstand the bowlings / Being more than 70 behind their opponent# ,she visitors had to follow on, but the second innings opened badly, three tickets falling for no tuns. Maud, however,.(rea.ted the field to some leather-hunting,' aUd wtis not disposed of till he had made SO.telli made 19, but the batting/ of the rest of the Eleven was very mediocere, and the innings closed for 70, or eight runs below their opponents.
