The following alterations in the ordinary time-table will be made for Ist January, 1883: In lieu of the 7.30 a.m. train from Timaru to Ashburton, and the 10.55 a.m. train from Ashburton to Christchurch, a train will run as under - Christchurch 12.30 Stopping at platform stations to pick up or set down passengers if required.

-The .morning train from Methven to will run same as on Wednesdays and Saturdays. .The evening train from Jlakaia to Methven will run 20 minutes later than usual. The evening train from Christchu ch to Ashburton will start at 4.50 p. m., and run 'minutes later than usual.
