ATTEMPTED WIFE MURDER.
[by telegraph.] Auckland, To-day,
A murderous assault was committed here this morning. A woman named Olsen was asleep in bed, when her husband attacked her with an axe, and split her head open. He gave himself up to the police. The woman was taken to the hospital in an apparently dying state.
