Two of the men charged with being concerned in the murder of the detective in Dublin on the 27th inst., have been committed for trial. Appointments. It is announced that Sir George Ferguson Bowen, Governor of Mauritius, has been appointed to the Governorship of Hong Kong, and that Sir John Pope Hennessy will take the vacant Governorship of Mauritius. [Received Dec. 1, 1 a.m.] The Rhine. Berlin, Nov. 30. The Rhine is now higher than it has been for a century, and the principal towns along its banks are inundated. Great distress prevails in consequence. M. Gambetta Recovering. Paris, Nov. 30. M. Gambetta is progressing favorably towards recovery from his recent accident.
