The Auckland team arrived at Oamaru shortly-after noon, and the match, Auckland v. Oamaru, commenced at 2 o’clock. Buckland took Dufaur’a place in the Eleven. ■ The wicket was not at all a good one.-' Robinson won the toss, and put Oamaru - in. JKneen and Sumpter went
first to the wickets, Buckland and Arneil ’ ’ 'bowling. Maidens from each end were followed by Kneen cutting Buckland for two, and Sumpter snicking a couple from ! Arneil. Buckland’s next over produced three singles, and after two more maidens Sumpter drove Arneil for three. Kneen opened out iat both bowlers, and twenty soon appeared; with no wickets down.
