Natator’s win to-day after his performance on the first day of the meeting has excited considerable comment, and Mr G. Bates has written to the stewards demanding an enquiry into the matter. : WAIRARAPA J.O. SPRING MEETING The weather wa* unfavorable for this meeting, which was held yesterday. TorK do won the Handicap Hurdle Race, sting Dick and Nikau. The A. B, C. -Stakes, for two-year-olds, was' won by Hope, who beat a solitary opponent—The Consul Whitau appropriated the Birthday Cup, with Rore second and Waitangi ’ -third. The Spring Handicap, for two-year-olds, fell to The Consul, Kope being second. The County Plate was won by 'B&kapo, with Dan O’Connell second. WA VERLEY -WAIT OTAR A MEETING This meeting took place yesterday, and was well attended. The Guineas was won by Fishwoman, Last Chance being second. In the Hurdle Race —which was won by Pat nell—Hadfield, the rider of Ngata, bad his collar-bone broken. Fishwoman iron the flying Handicap, and St Clair beat Hippodamia, Larry, and The Gem lor the Waitotara Handicap.
