I, DUNCAN McKENZIE, of Ashburton, being the holder of a Publican’s License in respect of the house and premises situate at Ashburton, and known as the Ashburton Hotel, do hereby give notice that I desire to obtain and will at the next Licensing Meeting, to be holden at Ashburton on the 4th day of December, 1882, apply for a transfer of the said license from myself to Thomas Orphine, my appointee. Ordinary single fare tickets to Christchurch issued at Waitaki, Waikari, or any intermediate Station, from the 6th to the 10th November inclusive, will he available for return up to and including the 13th. On the 7th, Bth, 9th and 10th November, the evening train from Christchurch to Ashburton will leave Christchurch at 4.50 p.m., and run 36 minutes later than usual, and the train due to leave Rakaia for Methven at 6,40 p.m. will not leave until 7 p.m. On the 7th, 9th, and 10th, the morning train from Methven to Rakaia will run same as on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
