Financial Statement. ; , Sydney, To-^ay. In the Legislative Assembly last night, the Hon. James Watson intro* duced his Financial Statement. After referring to the increasing prosperity of the colony, he stated that the revenue for the past year amounted to L 7,170,914, and that there was a surplus Lt,827,695. The estimated revenue for next year was L 7,356,200, with a credit balance of L 580,351. It was proposed to remit a number of specific duties on household requisites, and builders’ and manufacturers’ materials. Further railway construction was contemplated to the.rfi?tent of 710 miles, besides several extensions of the tramway system.
