Maiden Steeplechase, for a piece of plate value 10 so vs ; weight for age ; nomination, 1 sov ; for horses that have never started in «ui advertised race otherwise than Hack Races. One mile and a half. 3. Farmers’ Steeplechase (Handicap), for a piece of plate value 10 sovs ; nomination, 10s 6d ; acceptance, 10s 6d. One mile and a half. 4. Tally-Ho Cup (Handicap), value 10 sovs; nomination, 10s (3d ; acceptance, 10s 6d. Horses to bo ridden by members who have never previously ridden in an advertised race. One mile and a half. 5. Consolation Steeplechase (Handicap), for a piece of plate value 7 sovs; | nomination, 10s Cd ; acceptance, 10s 6d. For all beaten horses at the meeting. One mile and a half. G. A Dkag Hunt round the Steeplechase course, will take place at the conclusion of the races. Rules. All nominations must be lodged with the Secretary at Quill’s Hotel not later than 9 p.m., on TUESDAY, August 1, 1882. Weights for Hunt Club Cup will be published on SATURDAY, sth August, 1882 ; and acceptances must be made to Secretary not later than 9 p.m., on TUESDAY, Bth August, 1882. Weights for all other Handicaps will be declared on the day of the races, and acceptances must be made fifteen minutes before starting. All horses to be firstly, the properly of members of the Ashburton County Hunt Club; secondly, ridden by members of the Club, who have regularly hunted with the A. C. H. G. Hounds ; thirdly, to have been fairly hunted three times with the A. C. H. C. Hounds during this season. Edward Cookson Thinks this a fitting opportunity to return his thanks to the residents of Ashburton and district, for the patronage extended to him during the past eight years, and also for the kindly sympathy he experienced at the time of the burning of his stables.
