Ashburton Guardian Office, : ’ ' Monday Afternoon Mr Alfred Harrison reports his weekly sale as follows :—On Tuesday, July nth, I held a clearing sale of furniture and effects, for Mr Wallace, East Town Belt, there was a good attendance, and all lots were disposed of at very good prices. On Wedenscby, July 12th, I disposed of Mr Sycamore’s stock and implements at the farm, Winslow. The farm of 186 acres was passed in, not reaching reserve, there is, however, every probability that it will be sold during the next few days. —On Saturday, July 15, the usual weekly sale was held at my yards. A few hacks were entered, and one or two sold at low prices. Pigs put in an appearance, and that is all that can be said of them. Fowls, IS 6d to 2s 6d per pair; turkeys, 7s 6d to 10s per pair. Produce—Potatoes, 40s to 50s per ton ; carrots, 40s per ton; chick wheat, 2s 6d to 3 s per bushel; milling, 50 bushels at 4s per bushel. —Oats, 2s gd to 3s per bushel; onions, to id per lb.; carcase pork, 3j£d per lb. A large quantity of furniture and sundries sold ■well, the attendance being very large, and the sale continued until late in the afternoon.
