[pur rkutkr’s aok.ncy.] A Break-Down-Melbourne, Yesterday. The steamship Durham, which left London on May sth, arrived here this morning. Her machinery broke down during the voyage, and she was compelled to put into Portland to effect the necessary repairs. Sir Julius. Sir Julius Vogel is now staying at Menzies’ Hotel, Bourke street west. His departure for New Zealand has been postponed owing to an attack of gout from which he is suffering. It is stated that Sir Julius’ stay in the colonies will be but a brief one.
