PIGEON MATCH.
A pigeon match between residents in the Ashburton Gorge and those living in the neighborhood of Mount Somers took place at Mr Peache's station on Thursday last, and resulted in a win for the Gorge by three birds. The weather during the first part of the match was fine, but the greater part of the shooting was done in a light snow storm, and was therefore indffferent. Out of the first twenty birds nineteen were killed, but two fell out of bounds. The following are the scores : Ashburton Gorge ok “ The Hills.” Mr A. E. Peaohe, 1001000011100 ... 5 Mr D. H.
