E W ZEALAND INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION. PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION. GREAT JUVENILE GATHERING AND Art Union. ON MONDAY, the ioth of JULY, The Promoters intend to provide a SPECIAL ENTERTAINMENT For all the Children in this and the neighboring Provinces.
Both during the Day and Evening, Christmas Trees, Sports, Music, Cosmo-1 rama, Dissolving Views, Skating, 1 {reworks, etc , etc. Concluding with a Distribution of Toys, Presents, and Souvenirs, On Art Union Principles. The admission, including both day and night, will be One Shilling for adults, and Sixpence for children under fourteen, by TICKETS ONLY, which can be obtained personally or by Post-office Order for the amount, on or before the sth of July, at the Secretary’s office. Arrangements will be made with the Railway Department and Tramway Company for Special and Cheap Fares. OIIOUGH OF ASHBURTON. PUBLIC NOTICE. This is to notify that at a Special Meeting of the Council of the Borough of Ashburton, held on the 12th day of June instant. it was resolved to REPEAL By-law No. 55 and to ADOPT in lieu thereof the following By-law, that is to say—“lf any cattle shall at any time be found feeding, grazing, or wandering in any street or public place within the Borough, whether the same shall or shall not be attended by or in the charge of any person or persons the owner thereof shall be guilty of an offence, and notwithstanding the liability.of any person to a penalty under this by-law any officer of the said Council or any police constable may seize and impound such cattle. And the word “owner” shall include the per.-on having the lawful charge, control, or management of such cattle.”
And this is to further notify that a Meeting of the said Council will he held at the Council Chambers, in Burnett street, Ashburton, on MONDAY, the 10th day of July next, at seven o’clock in the evening, to confirm the said resolution.
