Public Notices. -gOROUGH OF ASHBURTON. PUBLIC NOTICE. This is to notify that at a Special Meeting of the Council of the Borough of Ashburton, held on the 12th day of June instant, it was resolved to REPEAL By-law No. 55 and to ADOPT in lieu thereof the following By-law, that is to say—“lf any cattle shall at any time be found feeding, grazing, or wandering in any street or public place within the Borough, whether the same shall or shall not be attended by or in the charge of any person or persons the owner thereof shall be guilty of an offence, and notwithstanding the liability of any person to a penaltj’ under this by-law any officer of the said Council or any police constable may seize and impound such cattle. And the word “owner” shall include the per.-.on having the lawful charge, control, or management of such cattle. ” And this is to further notify that a Meeting of the said Council will bo held at the Council Chambers, in Burnett street, Ashburton, on MONDAY, the 10th day of July next, at seven o’clock in the evening, to confirm the said resolution. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Road Board of the Longbeach District propose under and pursuant to The Public Works Act, 1880, to STOP the following ROAD, viz.:— All that parcel of land, containing 26 acres 3 roods 33 perches, or thereabouts, being part of a road reserve passing by and through the sections numbered 22539, 20692, 6793, 8417, 8450, 078:?. 6787, 8342, 8451, 6788, and 0792, as shown on the plans Nos. 483, 507, 508, deposited in the Land Transfer Office of the Christchurch Survey District, and extending from the junction of roads at the north-western corner of 11.
