[PEU RBUTBll’s AGENCY.] Native Troops for Egypt. London, June 27. In the House of Commons this afternoon the Marquis of Hartington, Secretary of State for India, in reply to a question, said that the Government were at present in communication with the Marquis of Ripon, Viceroy of India, on the subject of the despatch of Native troops to Egypt. The Russian Ambassador. It is announced that Baron Mohrenheim, at present Russian Ambassador at Copenhagen, has been appointed Ambassador at London, vice Prince Lobanoff, appointed to Vienna. The Australian Cricketers. The cricket match, Australians versus United South of England Eleven, was resumed to-day at Chichester. The weather was very fine, and a large number of spectators were present. The Australians continued their first innings, which closed for a total of 501. Bannerman was stumped for 88, and Horan was caught for 112. At the close of the day’s play the Home team in their first innings had lost three wickets for 67 runs. Mr VV. G. Grace only scored 4. Money and the Markets. Walsh, an Irishman who was recently arrested at Clerkenwell in connection with the seizure of arms at that place, was brought up at the Police Court yesterday on a charge of high treason and committed for trial. Fenian Conspiracy. Rumor is current here to the effect that the authorities are in possession of evidence revealing the existence of a wide spread Fenian conspiracy. The Canal in Jeopardy. It is reported that the Egyptians art about to take steps to obtain possessior and command of the Suez Canal, anc it is further stated that secret prepara lion have been completed to destro; the banks of the Canal in order to pre vent the passage of ships.
