Wellington-, To-day. Government propose to give L2 for LI raised by local bodies or associations for the purchase of diamond drills. Mr Levestam intends taking up the question of un&eaworthy ships being allowed to go to sea. tension, there were only sixteen present, find as some of the Westland members were insatiable in their demands the meeting was .adjourned until the 6th of July, when the Canterbury members will consider the requirements of their dis tricts, and leave the Westland members to urge their claims on their own account.
