SATURDAYS NOMINATIONS.

Sib, —In your notice of the nomination, issued so promptly after the proceedings closed, I observe two errors, which it will perhaps be safer to point out at once. Your reporter makes me say that 1 had never been a bullock-driver; but I did not say that. I saw at least one old Nelson settler at the nomination who knows that that was one of the first avocations I took to after landing in Nelson in 1842, and although, like most other persons, I exchanged my bullocks for horses as the roads were improved, 1 have no desire to conceal the fact that some of my early days were spent in wading, by the side of my bullocks, through the early Nelson mud tracks. A more important error reverses what I said about Mr Brown’s speech. What I said was that whilst Mr Brown in his speech was ready to draw on our imagination as to the great things Mr Ivess would do in the future, he cleverly avoided calling our attention to the fact that he had done nothing, with all his great opportunities, in the past. -- I am, etc , Alfred Saunders.
