Dunedin, To-day. The s.s. Manipouri has crossed the oar, and is now berthed at Port Chalmers, and shortly after eight o’clock was thrown open to visitors to-day. She brings the following summary of news:— Moffatt, the late manager of Post Office Savings Bank at Moonta, who absconded in April last, has been arrested on board the steamer Pekin at London on a charge of embezzlement, but was remanded, pending the arrival of certain legal documents from South Australia.
