[i*er reuter's agency.] The Australians Tackle the “ Light Blues” London, May 29. The cricket match was commenced to-day at Cambridge between Australians and Eleven of Cambridge University. The weather was very hot, and a capital wicket was pitched, and the ground was in good order. 1 here was a very large attendance, and the greatest interest was taken in the match.. The Australians went in first, and were all disposed of for 139. The highest scorers were Massie with’37, caught ; and A. Bannerman, 50. " The bowling of the Cambridge men was dead on the wicket, and their fielding was excellent. The University Eleven then went in for their first innings, and when the stumps were drawn for the day had put together 187 for the loss of only four wickets. Mr G. B. Studd scored 42, and Mr C. T. Studd is not out for 85. The Australians met with a cordial reception on going into the field. They will be entertained at dinner to-morrow by Dr Porter, Vice-Chancellor of the University.
The Egyptian Crisis. Constantinople, May 29.
It has transpired that Lord Dufferin and Marquis de Noalles, English and French Ambassadors, have addressed a joint note to the Porte, requesting that Arabi Pasha, the leader of the Nationalist party in Egypt, and his chief associates in the agitation, should forthwith be summoned by the Sultan to Constantinople. The Turkish ironclads stationed in the Bosphorus, are now engaged in coaling. It is believed it is the intention of the Porte to despatch them at once to Alexandria.
Reform m Russia. St. Petersburg's, May 29.
It is officially announced that the coronation of the Czar, which was fixed for August, at Moscow, has been postponed until May next year, and in the meanwhile three committees will undertake the work of drafting measures for the formation of representative institutions in Russia. The steps which may be approved for the creation of such institutions will be announced to the country at the coronation ceremony.
