Mr: ' Ashburton Guardian Office, Saturday Afternoon. "Messrs Jameson and Roberts (agents for Messrs R. Wilkin and Co.) report on the stock sale held, at the - Ashburton yards on Tuesday last as follows:—The entries of sheep were not so mfrnerous as at-the few previous sales. The aftc’ndance of buyers was good, and alt lots were cleared at satisfactory prices. There are nhinerr.us enquiries for good sound store sheep, lilt there are none coming foiward. We sold 92. merino wethers at 7 s 6cl, 57 ditto at 9 s 6d, <29 ; dil t« at 9s, 82 cross-bred ewes at 103 6d, 50 .merino ewes at 5s 3d, 97 ditto at ss, 20 ditto at 5s 3d, 77 ditto at $s 6d, 143 cross-bred lambs at 9s, 269 ditto at 8s 2d, 286 old merino ewes at 2s Bd. Cattle.—Very few really good fat ones were yarded. Medium sola ai fair prices. Springers are sale ible, and sold up to L 7 15s each. Stores are improving a little, hut prices still continue low.
