Harrison reports of his weekly sale as • follows Horses and cattle very poorly represented; Pigs--Or.e line of twelve brought 15s 6J to 17s ; small weights are bringing no prices at all, while good bacon pigs are selling i well. Fowls, is 6:1 to as 6d per pair. Pro- ' duce—Potatoes, 55s to 603 per ton ; onions, id per lb; carrots,. 35s per ton ; cheese, 5d per fb ; tea, 2ls qr-chept. A quantity of furniture, pictures, plated goods, etc., sold well. Milner safe (24 x 30), Liz Ss. . Attendance pretty good considering the weather, though undoubtedly the sale was much diminished by the heavy rain, and, later in the day, I noticed that a few had partaken of whisky to keep out the hail. .. Mr T. Bullock reports, fbr thfc week ending ' May g6(h :—Horse Market—At the Bazaar, Burnett street, on Saturday, the number of horses brought forward for sale was 32, out of which I sold 13. There was an average attendance of farmers and others and a fairly spirited bidding. Thf following prices were obtained:—Medium draughts, LiS, Liß, L2l, 145 10s, Ll 6, Ll 4; hacks, L 5, L 8 15s, L 7 lOS, L? los; inferior hacks, L3s s to S S J ‘ tip dray, 1.8; chaff-cutter, Ll2; doublefurrow plough, Ly.
