[per press association.] A Missing Merchant. Auckland, To-day. Harge, a wine and spirit merchant, about ten days ago left Auckland ostensibly to go on a visit to Rotorua. It is discovered that defalcations amounting to several thousand pounds exist, an Australian firm being let in heavily. It is supposed that Harge has gone to Adelaide, hoping to secure a passage in the Orient steamer Cuzco. A warrant is out for his apprehension, and a cable message sent advising the police authorities. Dilatory Darkies\lexandra, To-day. Te Ngakau and a number of other leading natives came to Alexandra today. They say the delay is caused by the non-arrival of a number of Southern natives, and the meeting will begin immediately they arrive. Farewell. Wellington, To-day. H.M. s.
