Melbourne, April 29. On application of the plaintiff a new trial has been ordered in the libel action brought by H. R. Williams, Minister for Mines in the late Berry Administration, against the Afgus, in which the verdict was on the 15th ult. returned for the defendant. A Victory for Sydney. The intercolonial eight-oar boat race, between Victoria and New South Wales crews, was rowed to-day on the Yarra, and resulted in a victory for the Sydney men by three lengths.
