To-Day’s Play.

Play was resumed at 12.40 to-day. A stiff easterly wind was again blowing. At 24 Barlow was given out leg before wicket to C. Frith. Bates took his place, and began scoring rapidly. At 60 Fitzgerald was put on in W. Frith’s place. Selby put up a soft one in the slips, but Spring mulled it. Runs came steadily, the field becoming demoralised, and several changes in the bowling were tried, till, at ioi, Davenport at point secured Selby. Shrewsbury was caught by Harris in the slips after making a single. Midwinter should have been run out as soon as he joined Bates, but for loose fielding. At the adjournment the score stood at 108 for 3 wickets, Bates being 58 not out.
