Australian tallow has further advanced 6d per cwt; best beef, 425; best mutton, 47s 6d. AUSTRALIAN" [per rbuxer’s agency.] The Garonne’s Passengers. Melbourne, Jan. 10. Another of the Garonne’s passengers has caught smallpox, and has been taken to the quarantine station. The Garonne proceeded on her voyage to Sydney to-day. Most of the passengers for New Zealand disembarked here, and will be quarantined for at least a fortnight. Dismissed. The action at law brought by the crew of the steamship Ferret, alias India, which was seized by the Victorian Customs authorities in April last, for the recovery of wages alleged to be due to them, has been dismissed. Not Dangerous. The ship Melanope, 1,608 tons, from Liverpool, got aground while entering the South Channel. The cargo is being taken out by lighters, and her position is not considered dangerous.
