HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

A meeting of the above was held last night, at Mr A. Harrison’s auction rooms. There was a good attendance ; Mr Harrison in the chair.—Owing to a misprint as to the date of meeting, Mr Davidson was unprepared with his paper, but promised to have the same ready by the next monthly meeting.—The town and suburbs were divided into wards, and members of the Committee appointed to each to canvass for subscriptions now due. —lt was decided that members should be entitled to two admission tickets beyond their member’s ticket and a copy of the catalogue free, and that members be entitled to exhibit free of charge. The annual subscription is 10s 6d. We hope that these liberal inducements will meet with liberal support.—The Secretary reported that Mr Wright (the President) had written to the Colonial Secretary for leave to hold an art union in connection with the show, and he had not the least doubt the matter would be granted.—-We are requested to state that catalogues can now be obtained from the Secretary (Mr Povntzb at a charge of fid each
