This Road District being now subdivided into Five Wards, the following [ explanation of the working of the Ward system, so far as it relates to the election of members of the Board, is published for the information of the Ratepayers of the district. The boundaries of the Wards have been gazetted, and can also be seen on the map at the Road Board Office.

At the termination of the current year all the present members of the Board go out of office, but are eligible for reelection. Each Ward will return one member to represent it on the Board. Such member must be on the roll of the Ward he represents, and be elected by Ratepayers on such roll, and no others.
