, It is announced that the following gentlemen have been appointed mem* hers of the .Legislative Council of New South Wales :—Messrs Sutherland, Brodribb, Webb,; Terry, Alderson, Joseph Cadell, Mbrii, Macintosh, Lee, Sytter, Rundle, and Roberts. Another Banquet. A grand* banquet was held in honor of Sir Henry Parkes last night. Over 2,000 persons were present, and the affair was a great success. In His Shoes. It is announced that Sir John Robertson returns to the Ministry as Secretary for Lands, vice James Hoskins, and that he will perform the duties of Colonial Secretary in the absence of Sir Henry Parkes. Interrupted. Melbourne, Yesterday. The Australian overland telegraph line is interrupted between Port Darwin and Adelaide. A violent thunderstorm and hurricane which passed over Central Australia are supposed to be the causes of the interruption. Home Letters. Arrived —P. and O.
