THE REV. A. W HANDS IN EXPLANATION.
To the Editor. Sir,—l think it only just that the parents of the Borough School should know that I had.explained to Mr J. Ward the reason why 1 was unable to examine the school children, and Mr Ward could have explained my absence to Mr St. Hill had ho chosen to do 50,... It was from,
no lack of interest in the school that I was absent, but pastoral work among the sick and other parish work made it impossible for me to undertake the examination without neglecting far more important work.—l am, &c., A. W. Hands.
