SOUTHLAND JOCKEY CLUB RACES Invercargill, Yesterday. The first day’s races were rather poorly attended. Southland Cup. —Tasman, 1; Volunteer, 2. Adamant was scratched. Time, nearly Strain. Southland Hussar Plate.—Ploughboy, 1. Eight others started. District Selling Race.— Kingbird, 1; Tom King, 2. Patch also started. A Hack Selling race and Hurry Scurry closed the day’s sports.
