IT is not altogether a new idea, whei business people burst into rhyme ii their advertisements. Our grandfather and grandmothers have read some ex crutiating poetry in advertisements ir their time just as we do sometimes now. From an old newspaper dated a while after the Flood, a tea dealer, expatiating on the merits of his tea, has the following : “ For lords and ladies it is fit; Seven shillings is the price of it.” I’m not going to paint the lily or gild refined gold by attempting to improve on that, but it should be a source of comfort to the tea drinkers of Ashburton and surrounding districts that they can now procure the finest Teas at my establishment for much less money. I have just received a fresh consignment of Nelson, Moate, and Co. ’s Puke Blended Teas, in packets and boxes. I have also opened up an assortment of Fancy Goods, and fruits in variety are constantly arriving, so that my patrons may have plenty to chose from at the coming festive season.
