ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE.

Ashburton will soon get the reputation of being a shocking place if we are to have many more earthquakes. This morning at 20 minutes past 5 o’clock the majority of the residents were reminded by an unmistakeable rocking sensation that it was; getting towards breakfast time, and that early rising was conducive to health. The shock lasted from 20 to 30 seconds, and it is generally agreed that it was more severe than the last one. Our Elgin correspondent writes— ; “ Another smart shook of earthquake was 1 felt here at between 5.23 and 5.25 this morning, which gave the occupants of dwellings a call to turn out of their beds. From Waterton we learn from a correspondent that the shock was also found in that locality, but only slightly, the direction appearing to be from north to south. [by telegraph.] Greymouth, To-day. A sharp shock of earthquake was experienced this morning, at 5.16 a.m. The shock was very brief; direction, west to east. There was another very slight shock at 5.20.
