UPPER ASHBURTON ROAD BOARD

-a. The ordinary meeting of the Board was held on Monday, Nov. 28. Present— Messrs McLean (Chairman), Harper, Williamson, and Sargeant. The Clerk read the monthly report and a statement of the receipts and expenditure since the constitution of thenew Board, showing an overdraft of L 192 3s Id'still due. The Clerk was instructed to advertise that lie will meet ratepayers at Mr D. Williamson’s store for payment of rates every Saturday from 12 o’clock to 4 The Clerk was requested to ask that the footpath, N.E. Town Belt, known as Domain road, he proclaimed a footpath, and . also to put notice boards up, stopping all wheeled traffic on pain of prosecution. Correspondence was read as follows ; From Messrs Orr and Co., re moneys due to Mr J. Gardiner —From Colonial Secretary, with the information that the district had been proclaimed divided into five wards. — : [At this stage Mr Stitt took his seat] From the Wakanui Road ’- Board, asking for the sum of LI ss, being eighth share of expense incurred in rotting up memorial for the reduction of the railway tariff.—From the Colonial Treasurer, informing the Board that LlB2 12s 3d, subsidy of rates collected, . had been paid into the Board’s account.— From the Hon.
