TRIAL OF TITOKOWARU.

Titokowaru was brought up at the Police Court this morning, and charged by Thomas Lloyd, hotelkeeper at Manaia, with having on the 21st of October used threatening words to the effect that he would burn down the hotel and murder the women and children, and that ha would set lire to Manaia ; also, with saying at Fort llolleston, Parihaka, “Do you think my people would run away from such a lot of men as you have brought here ; have the Europeans forgotten. Tuautuaumokai and Te Tmateotemanu ? our day will yet come,” or words to that effect. Mr Standish appeared for the prosecutor, and asked to have Titokowaru bound over to keep the peace. Titokowaru was ordered to find two securities in LSOO each, to keep the peace for twelve months, in the meantime he will be kept in gaol till he finds securities.
