OUR VOLUNTEERS.
The Hinemoa, with the Canterbury, Marlborough, and Nelson contingents, left Opunake at 6 a.m. on Saturday, arriving at Nelson at 6.30 p.m. the same day. They received an enthusiastic reception. As we do not know at what hour the steamer left Nelson, or whether she called at Wellington, we are unable to state when our men may be expected to put in an appearance, but it is possible they may be home to-night, although more probable that they will arrive by the express train in the morning. But, whenever they come, the Ashburton Rifles will turn out in full uniform, headed by their band, to receive their comrades form the front. There will doubtless be a large muster of townspeople also to welcome home “ the boys.”
