John Patrick was charged ;with drunkenness. Constable Smart [deposed that complaints had reached him,; :from several persons that Patrick had stuck them up in the street and asked fot : money. His- Worship, addressing ;inan, told him that, he remembered him ■ -when he was a respectable, hardworking jman, and he was -sorry to see him in the [position he was in to-day. The defendant, who rwas shaking all over lik© a leaf gaift'jof wind, . expressed his regret, and said he Would clear out if his Worship would be lenient His said that as he had known him before, he would give him a chance. He could go.—, Benjamin Boswell was charged with drunkenness. Sergeant Pelton said the defendant was now out on bail. He had been remonded on Wednesday for a week for wife desertion. Sentenced to 48 hours in the lockup. : Alleged Embezzlement. William,. George Augustus Marmaduke White was charged with embezzling L2, the monies? of Richard Lancaster, butcher, East street.—Sergeant Felton asked for a remand, as other charges Were pending.—• Remanded for a week accordingly. The Court then rose.
