PURE IMPORTED CLYDESDALE STALLION Billy Fairplay, bred by John Henderson, Esq., of Park, is a rich brown, seven years old, stands over 17 hands high, and got by the pure-bred Clydesdale stallion The Gentleman (328), and he was got by that unprecedented stallion Prince of Wales (673), which Mr Lawrence Drew purchased from Mr David Riddell at L 1,500. The Gentleman gained the Dalkeith premium of LIOO, and the Dumfriesshire premium of LIOO, and was afterwards sold, to go abroad, at a very high figure. Billy Fairplay’s dam, a first-cass brood mare, was got by Campie (119), who gained the Glasgow premium two years in succession, also third at the Highland Society at Edinburgh, and was afterwards sold to the Emneror of Austria at a very high figure. Billy Fairplay will Stand at Grove Farm, Tinwald, and will Travel the Ashburton and surrounding districts. Terms, £4 4s, payable by acceptance, to mature Ist day of March, 1882.
