We the undersigned Electors of Wakanuni, recognising your ability and feeling assured that you have the best interests of this district and the colony at heart, respectfully request that you will allow yourself to be placed in nomination for a seat in the General Assembly for the Wakanui Electorate. In pursuance of “ The Regulations of Elections Act, 1881,'’ I, Walter Martin, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Ashburton, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a writ bearing date the 9th day of November, 1881, under the hand of the Clerk of the Writs, an ELECTION will be held for the return of one qualified person to serve as MEMBER for the said electoral district ; and that the Nomination of Candidates will take place at the Courthouse, Ashburton, at noon on the third day of DECEMBER, 1881 ; and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken at the several polling places of the said district on the 9th day of DECEMBER, 1881.
