MR PURNELL AT KYLE.
Mr Purnell addressed the Wakanui electoia at the Kyle schoolroom last evening. There was a good attendance. Mr T. Arnold was voted to the chair. Mr Purnell's address was to a large extent a repel it’on of his previously expressed opinions on the poltical topics of the day, his remarks being frequently greeted with applause. In ieply to questions, the candidate said that he would be in favor of rating those districts which were traversed by non-paying railways, for the purpose of making good the deficiency in their railway accounts. Mr Lambie, in moving a vote of thanks to the candidate for his address, said that he thought it was of no practical consequence whether a single vofc of thanks or a vote of thanks and confidence was passed at these election meetings. The general feeling in ihe district; seemed to bo that Mr Purnell was the best man of the three candidates in the field, and his address that night would lend +0 confirm that opinion in the minds of those who had heard it. Mr W. Loudon seconded the motion, wlr'ch was carried unanimously. A vote of thanks wa’. then given to the Chairman, and the meeling dispersed.
