CHEESE AND BUTTER FACTORY.

To the Editor. Sib, —In the columns of your contemporary of yesterday morning, appears a local on the meeting in the Town Hall, on the occasion of Mr Eowron’s lecture on the above subject, and which, from its tone, is intended to imply lukewarmness on the part of those concerned. I will allow, sir, that the attendance was meagre as respects the larrikin element, and there was also - a notable absence of tall talk, fulsome promises, and cut and dried votes of confidence, with which we have been regaled lately, through your contemporary’s columns, but that it was interesting to those for whose benefit it was given, was evinced by the fact that several farmers came from a long distance to hear it. Now, sir, it appears strange that the Mail, the proprietor .of which professes to be the farmer’s friend and champion, should not even think it worth while to send a reporter to such a meeting, but, air, I am fully convinced that the adulation heaped upon the fanner elector through the Mail are positive bunkum, and I trust that the same will be recollected on the polling day.—l am, etc., A Farmer & an Elector.
