RETURN OF W. W. CHARTERS, AND ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION IN CHRISTCHURCH.
[by telegraph.] Christchurch, To-day.
W. W. Charters, arrested in England by Constable Brooks, arrived by the ship Wanganui last night. He was brought up at the Magistrate’s Court this morning, and charged with embezzling L 520 belonging to the Sydenham Building Society, also with forging a bill of exchange for L 147. The accused was remanded till November 12.
