MAIL NOTICES.

•\TaHa close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : Saturday, November 5. For the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &0., as as follows Ordinary letters at 6.30 p .m. ; late fee letters, at 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, at 6 p.m. ; money orders, at 3 p.m. ; registered letters at 5 p.m. ; guard’s van, 8.30 p.m. train.

Mails close at the Ashburton Post Office gym follows For Christchurch and North at 6.30 a. m. 10.30 a.m., and 5 p.m., daily. For Chertseyßakaia, &c., at 10.00 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. For Dimedin, Tinwtdd, Winslow, Hinds, Coldstream, Rangitata, Orari, Winchester, and Geraldine, at 10 a.m. daily. For Temuka, at 6.30 a.m. and 10 a.m., daily. „ For Timaru and South, at 6.30 a.m., 10 A.m., and 4.30 p.m., daily. For Greenstreet, Ashburton Forks, Mount Somers, and Ashburton Gorge, oa Tuesdays and Fridays, at 10.30 a. m. For Ashton, Waterton and Longbeach, at 4.30 p.m. daily. For Flemington, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 4.30 p. m. For Wakanui, Elgin, Seafield, Newland, and Kyle, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, at 6.30 a.m.
