MR IVESS AT WATERTON.

Mr Ivess addressed the electors of the Waterton district at the Waterton Library Hall last night. There were about sixty people present. Mr Thomas Taylor whs voted to the chair, and briefly introduced the candidate, who was well received. Mr Ivess’s address was as near as possible a resume of that given by him at Ashburton. He was several times applauded during his address, which was attentively listened to. Questions were asked “by Messrs David Evans, J. Barr, J. Davies, Bell, and some other electors in the body of the hall, which were satisfactorily answered by the candidate. At the close a vote of thanks was proposed and seconded, and also an amendment that a vote of thanks and confidence he given to Mr Ivess. This was carried by a largo majority, only few voting for the motion. Mr Ivess thanked the meeting, and moved the usual vote of thanks to the chairman, and the meeting closed.
